"Man" Teaching About
God
It is one of the Articles of Faith of this Church that we expect
each member to be his own resource to understand the nature of God.
We, as a Church, have no "teachings" or dogma on the nature of God,
believing it is only possible to come to know God through your own
journey of discovery and observation.
Generally this position has been rare in history. The rotating
choices above give you a selection of articles describing how certain of
righteousness various humans have been in their pronouncements about the nature of
God.
Those who have told us what to think about God may, some say, have
included Jesus:
"And
fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but
rather fear him, which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew
10:28). Source
One of the great preachers of the Puritan past, Cotton
Mather, wrote hundreds of books and pamphlets, including many that justified the
Salem Witch Trials. Source
Surely
throughout the early 2000 years Allah was described by many thousands of "men"
as ordering the murder of Christians, and Americans. Those who have spoken FOR
God, or in the name of God, or even ABOUT God have added mostly to the
immorality on the planet.
The image on the right? Allah, according to some men,
ordered them to murder this American, and how does the image of God fare in the
mouths of such terrorists?
The political parties have filled up with those who
describe God in ways that they think help them get elected -- playing to the
worst of human qualities in the electorate.
Al Sharpton declared himself a Reverend when
he
was
a child and continued to speak, thanks to the secular media, to destroy
religion as well as morality in America.
By the age of 3, Sharpton
would walk home from the Pentecostal church in Queens, line up his sister's
dolls on the bed, drape on his mother's nightgown as raiments, and preach of
God's tender mercy. Source
The false prophets are denounced in every age,
usually following a reign of influence over man, speaking in the name of God.
Such false prophets have invariably been followed by NEW false prophets. The link, above, called "False Prophets" presents a list of some 70 individuals
in modern times who have spoken for God, and about God. Surely on this
grand list is at least one YOU may think is speaking truly? It matters
not, because "man" is not in a state to receive or understand spiritual grace,
or the word of God.
Why?
Because "man," in the generality, has not
found a way to bring sanity and common sense to man -- reliance on God has
always been in the hands of man and has failed.
It is time for a common sense approach to
religion and morality that will function at the grassroots level of man,
teaching NOT about God, but about simple morality. "Don't use harmful
drugs" is simple enough, but certainly not universally followed or even accepted.
What this planet needs just now is a method of
bring MORALS to society -- then such can look for and find spiritual salvation,
and come to understand God.
The elimination of God and religion, have been the
specialty of psychiatry, as rooted in the public admission of one of the early
proponents of "flexible morals," or "morals that fit the occasion," rather than
some fundamental and universal description of what is "right" and what is
"wrong."
If
morals are not going to be taught in schools, and children have no moral
foundation in their schools, then chemicals are much more easily accepted to
"create happiness" and "social control" is much more readily accepted as the
goal of education. It was leading psychiatrist Dr. G. Brock Chisholm, who
said: "To achieve world government, it
is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to
family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas."
Here is one of their major teachings about God -- that He
does not exist. If He does not exist, then man must seek his goals without
any hope for spiritual salvation.
There is a special type of "language" called "psychobabble"
that is very cleverly used to confuse people -- it is often the tongue of the
"man" telling us about God. "Psychobabble" is a term that describes how
morals and religion have been systematically destroyed in America. Don't miss
that link as it rotates into view above.
When you find the Baptists in Kentucky fighting with the
Baptists in South Carolina, you know that one or the other (or both) are
listening to MAN teaching about God. Men have "un-Godly" thoughts, but
ascribe them to God for legitimization.
The Alliance of Baptists has issued a statement decrying “the
politicization of gay marriage” in the current presidential campaign and
supporting all Americans’
rights to “full marriage equality.”

Probably that's a sin according to some! It depends
on which "man" you listen to!
Much of the "popular" media seems involved in a campaign to
destroy religion -- since that allows the media to propose a form of "morals"
which is "self directed." Moral codes based on religious concepts have not
fared well down through history -- and there has not been, before, a moral code
based on common sense. There is now.
